It’s Friday y’a’ll. We’ve had a great week at Mardy’s Munchies! We got a great write up on 2 local food blogs that highlights culinary deliciousness on the eastern side of Los Angeles. The first one is on The Eastsider LA Blog you can read it here. Thanks to everyone who commented as well. Also feel free to click on the Sweets Beat link to read the interview with Steve. He’s such a cutie pie and I’m not just saying that because he’s my partner. Anyway – We’re gearing up for The Holidays and have already received our first order for the Holidays. A special Holiday cookie for a client who is in love with our product. We can’t thank you guys enough for such a great summer and early fall. Here’s hoping winter is even better. Have a spooky weekend and get dressed up and go wild! Why not?
Please come on out to the Haunted Halloween Harvest Festival Tuesday, October 26 from 3-8. It will take place at the Old L.A. Farmer’s Market in Highland Park. We will have face painting, pumpkin carving, the band Artichoke will be playing! Also every kid in costume can trick or treat at each vendor’s tent and receive someone yummy. Mardy’s Munchies will have carrot cake baby bundt cakes, halloween cupcakes, pumpkin spice cupcakes, cookies and more. We hope to see you there – it’s going to be a ghoulishly good time.
We are so into our Pumpkin products right now! We had a complete sell out by 4pm on Sunday at the pumpkin festival in Calabasas, it was so much fun. People mobbed our tent looking for pumpkin product. I had no idea that pumpkin goodies were so wanted. I like pumpkin breads and cakes, but I’ve never craved it. That is until Steve forced me to do a taste testing with his pumpkin cupcake. It’s ridiculous good. It’s a spiced pumpkin cake with a harvest spiced frosting. The frosting has a cream cheese base and is spiced with cinnamon, cardamon, cloves and all kinds of other good things. It’s so yummy. We will have these cupcakes and baby pumpkin bundts for sale for you at the Highland Park Farmer’s Market every Tuesday until the end of the year. Check us out!
Y’all. I’m not even going to pretend to be modest on this blog post. Steve has seriously been working on his pumpkin recipes and let me tell you – they are so damned good! Pumpkin Cupcakes with Harvest Spiced Frosting, Southern Pumpkin Baby Bread Loaves, Baby Pumpkin Bundt Cakes with a maple-orange glaze – mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm. I’m smacking my lips just remembering our tasting session! We are not offering these seasonal products on our site, but they will be available this weekend at the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival and also at the local Farmer’s Markets until Thanksgiving. Come on out and see us – we love to look at your pretty faces!
We recently changed our bakers dozen from 13 cookies a pack to 14 cookies a pack! We’re calling our special dozen “The Mardy’s dozen“. 14 cookies just look cooler in the box. Once we did this though we became really interested in the history of a ‘bakers dozen’. Check out this cool link and I think you will find it as interesting as we did.
Yes it is that time of year! It’s already end of the first week of October. It’s time to think about the holidays. I know I get overwhelmed just thinking about it and pull out my notebook and start making my lists of things to do. This year we want to make things simple for you. We have gift baskets for you! All you have to do is email us and let us know your price point. We will have $25, $50, $75 and $100 dollar gift baskets. Tell us how much money you want to spend and leave the rest to us. Happy Holidays!
I feel like everytime I blog I talk about the eastside or Montecito Heights or Highland park or Downtown Los Angeles. The truth is, we are 5 minutes from South Pasadena! I don’t know why I don’t mention it more. South Pasadena is an adorable area just to the north of Montecito Heights. We’ve catered and delivered to quite a few homes in South Pasadena. South Pasadena is also home to one of the best Farmer’s Markets in Los Angeles. Everyone we meet asks us when we will be a part of that market, but there is a long waiting list for that market and yes we are on it! Some People call us a cake bakery, some call us a cupcakery and yet others just call us a bakery. We’re an All American Bakery. We specialize in baked goods. All baked goods, not just one or the other. My daddy was in town from Georgia and he just had one of Steve’s Blueberry Bliss Crumble Tarts and he called me up and said, “Jana, that tart is out of this world”. I couldn’t agree with you more!
So if you’re looking for a cake bakery in South Pasadena or a cupcakery in Downtown Los Angeles or even a cookie shop in Hollywood, we’re your people!
Have a great weekend California.
